Yellow River in Essen

Ambience: very bare, dated and not as welcoming as it was several years ago. Service: The crazy chickens that run around there, you can just laugh yourself to death ? 0 Organization, unfriendly and if you don't tip them, you won't even get a nice day wished for. I tested it myself, if you tip them then they are super nice, but not the other way around, which is actually a shame, because only friendly employees are happy to tip ? well, still funny to see them running around ?? Eat: Well, not the best, food as well as meat and fish that is freshly prepared tastes good, finished dishes are mostly almost cold, bread is hard, soup tastes like water and the vegetables are mostly dry. Well, the food just gets a little dry if it's been there for a long time. But in order to offer its customers good quality, change and always top up fresh. Beverages: I always ordered cola and even this is not 100% cola. I observed it very often and had to realize that the drinks are mixed with cheap mineral water. I saw it myself !! No matter if Cola, Fanta and Co. everything is punched with water. For the price that Yellow River takes for a glass, you shouldn't skimp on it. Pay attention if someone dares to go there ? Toilets: Not very clean. By and large, anyone who wants to get their own picture should go there.

It's a shame that it is stated online that Yellow River is open and that we were standing in front of closed doors today. Please update your opening times.

The waitress was so rude and outrageous, yet we stayed nice. When it came down to paying and we did not want to tip this unfriendly and outrageous waitress, she threw us the money and the garbage like garbage, as if we were dogs. Of course, she ignored us after we kindly wished her a nice day and said goodbye (like the ones before when we thanked her when she brought away plates). This woman is so unfriendly every time that I advise all people just because of this person from entering this store!

I wanted a wok/ grill buffet with sushi options and at first glance the place was full of people and the host/ server was very friendly and helpful, the sushi selection was very small but was rather fresh, the rest of the buffet however including soups was old, dry and rather tasteless.. Which was such as shame.. Similar restaurants in Belgium and France offer similar prices and set up but much fresher food. I would not recommend you choose the buffet option, but perhaps try ordering from the menu, maybe you find it better.

Bad food, over salted, the mussels were old, the place looks very dirty and the staff is extreme rude. We started to eat at 4pm but the buffet change of price at 5, so one of the employees just deny us to take the dessert!! just ridiculous! Definitely the worse place to eat in Essen!

Tasty okay, however, the selection is relatively small the word buffet is a lot of exotic meats and fish and vegetables for dessert, the restaurant offers a lush selection of fruit such as ice cream banana pineapple and a small selection of cakes for the price okay, but not more

Staff were rather abrupt, most of the buffet was not really hot, The live cook was OK. Maybe I've been spoiled by better establishments, I think I would use an alternative if one was nearby.

GREAT VARIETY OF FOOD

I can say that nothing has frustrated us until now! The place was always a taste explosion in my mouth. The restaurant is really stylish furnished. Not a cheap deco, instead it was all color harmoniously matched to each other in color. I found the offer extremely sympathetic. Fast and polite service. I think all the staff there has done a harmonious job.

Sushi here is so fresh and tasty! The price is reasonable. However, regarding the Mongolian barbecue, you should request the Chef to use your favorite sauce or how you want to marinate your dish. Otherwise, your dish will be salty.

Terrible toilet facilities

Great selection, I recommend the teriyaki pork and the fresh seafood. Fresh strawberries and watermelon make the meal go down nicely. Great ambient as well. Mittagsbuffet (11- 16:30) € 9.90, coke € 3.40. You are going home with a filled stomach and a fuller heart.

Good food, not the best one but it’s okay for the price. Guys ,don’t expect a 5 star restaurant, it’s just an all you can eat restaurant. Like everywhere else the drinks are expensive.

Salad bar and dessert are also available. There is also a small sushi bar and it tastes good for a buffet. You can also have something fresh prepared in the Mongolian way. When I am in Essen and want to eat something for a small price, the Yellow River is really good. My recommendation thumbs up !!

Good cheap restaurant with open buffet. Possibility salad. Sushi. Frying. Hot meals. Desserts. Fruits. But also to grill fish seafood and various meats and vegetables. The server super nice!
